Regular Council Meeting
=enty-one
Mr. Fixler said that is an excellent point; there is one point he would like to bring up. In
addition to individualized parking spots, he thinks they should be removed and visitors
should be allowed to park there. Second of all, he thinks there should be a handicapped
parking spot for the Service Building as well as the Wiley Park area. If these are things
that are already going to be started, Mr. Fixler said let's have a timetable.
Chief Mohr said he agrees; he thinks there should be a timetable set.
Discussion was held about the possible utilization of the Community Room for Council
Meetings.
Chief Mohr said he believes the community room should be utilized. With the addition
of a sound system, and using the folding tables and chairs in the room, it could easily be
utilized. A timetable needs to be established as far as short and long-term plans.
Mr. Fixler asked if Chief Mohr would agree it is better to start addressing some of these
things than doing nothing at all.
Chief Mohr said we need to know if we are going to fix up the Village Hall or move
onto something else.
Mayor Rinker said he needs recommendations on specifics.
Mrs. Mikula (in the audience) asked, can action be taken on the handicapped parking?
Why is it residents coming in with a cane and those having a hard time walking are
having to park in the boondocks? She said servants of the people are.parking in "Police"
spaces. Mrs. Mikula said one Councilman made a statement in public to "let them
walk." Another Councilman also refused to move his car at the Pancake Breakfast
because "he might have to run out." Mrs. Mikula said because of all the elderly who
were coming in there, she put up a handicapped parking sign when they forbid her to
do it.
ANY OTHER MATTER THAT MAY COME BEFORE COUNCIL
Mrs. Cinco asked if there were any other matters Council wants to deal with.
Mrs. Leppla said she needs to get together with Mr. Hovancsek regarding two residents.
She promised to get back to one resident before August so she wants to set up an
appointment as soon as possible with Mr. Hovancsek.
Mr. Hovancsek said he will be glad to do that.
