Council President Joanne Cinco
presided.
ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante, Mr. Fixler, Mr. Flynn,
and Mrs. Leppla
Absent: Mr. Basile
Also Present Were: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Amendola, Mr. Brett, Mr. Diemert,
Mr. Hovancsek, Lt. Jay, Chief Mohr and Miss Heath
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.
OPEN PORTION
Mr. Vince Lombardo, 6466 Chase Drive, asked about the traffic light at the corner of
Raleigh & Wilson Mills. He said that instead of having a one-cycle light, they have a 2-
cycle light. There is a 15-second green light, then it turns red. The next time, a114
directions are red and they have to wait again. They do not get a green light every
evolution.
Lt. Jay explained if one vehicle were at the intersection, it immediately changes and
goes back to the main street. If there is more traffic, it will extend to the maximum
(green light) of 15 seconds.
Mr. Lombardo said a114 directions had a red light on a Sunday; they don't get a green
light every cycle. He also asked about the possibility of a blinking light.
Lt. Jay said the system is interconnected. They cannot put Raleigh on a flashing light
without putting Beta Drive on flash. Additionally, he does not believe residents on
Wilson Mills would not want the flashing lights in their windows. Lt. Jay explained
that a vehide must be on the detector (the stop bar) to be detected. If they come to the
stop bar during the light's mid-cycle, it will not detect the car until the next time. All
four lights will be red for approximately one second after the light changes.
Mr. Lombardo said he will time it and may call Lt. Jay.
