Ytegular Council Meeting 9/20/93 Page Eight <br />Mr. Brett said that the 3 projects are going to be close to one another in as far as <br />construction. They may be able to consolidate the financing for all three projects. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mr. Ferrante said they met September 11. The <br />membership voted to raise the dues to $200 per year. Chad Hume from Cablevision <br />spoke about controversy of Channels 3-5-8-23-43 etc. wanting to charge Cablevision to <br />broadcast their stations. They are in negotiations now. Mr. Hume suggested they <br />should reach an agreement by October 6. Mr. Ferrante said Mr. Hume would be glad to <br />meet with any and all communities to answer any questions at any time. Tom Chema <br />was the second speaker. He spoke on Gateway. The ballpark and arena will be <br />completed on time and under buciget. Mr. Chema would also be glad to talk about <br />parking, safety, transportation and traffic with any community. Mr. Ferrante said <br />attendance was down. They have been asked to recruit Public Officials to attend these <br />meetings. <br />Historical Societv - Mr. Busa said the Mayfield Township Historical Society is <br />continuing the restoration work at the Historical House. The annual Ice Cream Social <br />was a great success with over 300 people attending! The annual Turkey Raffle will be <br />held November 20 in the Community Room. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mrs. Cinco said the 16th Annual Art Show will be held October 22-25. We <br />have entry blanks are available. They are asking for patron ads. They brought Jim <br />Farmer in this year. He has gone over and updated their Corporate status, updated <br />their bylaws and Code of Regulations. Their next meeting is October 7. <br />Ordinance Review - Mrs. Cinco said they did not meet this month. <br />Planning and Zoning - Mrs. Cinco reported on the meeting of September 7 for Mr. <br />Basile. The main discussion was on Ordinance No. 93-32. They are trying to <br />understand why this was brought to the voters. It was studied by the Architectural <br />lZeview Board for a long time. It will give our overall Village a more open look. <br />Recreation Board - Mrs. Leppla said they met August 18 following the softball banquet <br />which was a great success. Elliot complimented and appreciated the hard work of the <br />coaches this year. He said everyone had good team spirit and got along well. Fall <br />softball started last year. They are beginning to work on the Craft Show. The race date <br />may have to be changed next year because of a conflicting race. Mrs. Leppla said the <br />Recreation Board would like her to ask Mr. Diemert for an opinion if there is a State law <br />as to the number of counselors needed per child (recommending a counselor to child <br />ratio.) Mrs. Leppla said they had an excellent ratio but want to be sure they are within <br />the law. Peggy Gomillion researched a quote for the drainage at Wiley Park. Mrs.
