Regular Council Meeting
10/18/93
Page Eleven
meeting he would like to sit down with Gus, Steve, and Mr. Merkel to look at it and see
where they can go.
NEW BUSINESS:
Removal of Yard Waste - B.F.I.
Mrs. Cinco said we need a motion to approve the pick-up of yard waste (addition to
contract--per information in Council packets.)
Mr. Amendola said he has a question concerning that ordinance. There is no definition
of the term "yard waste" in the ordinance/contract. He said it should be identified. It
should say, "grass, branches, and other parts of trees." We are going to be responsible
for the leaves. Mr. Amendola said he discussed this with B.F.I. and they plan to request
that those things be put in paper bags.
Mrs. Cinco said Mr. Brett just pointed something out. Would you please have the Law
Department look at that contract. She said she is looking at page 3 of the original
contract--number 5-the Village's option must be exercised on or before November 1st,
1993. We need to deal with that tonight so it can be approved and B.F.I. can malce
arrangements to pick up our yard waste. In the meantime, the Legal Department can
look into the definition of "yard waste."
Mr. Ferrante, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to authorize an addendum being
added to the current contract with B.F.I. regarding pick-up of yard waste; addendum to
include a definitions of solid waste and yard waste per the Law Department.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
B.F.I. authorized to pick up yard waste per option in contract; addendum to be
prepared by Law Department and attached to contract.
Snow Plowing Applications
Mrs. Cinco asked if anyone had any additions, corrections, or comments (to the
information included in their packet.) We have those notarized signatures on file--so
people don't have to do it again if they are on file.
Mayor Rinker said the snow removal information will be included in the VOICE OF
THE VILLAGE which will go out tomorrow.
