Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole.
Mr. Ferrante, seconded by Mr. Fixler, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 93-27.
Mayor Rinker asked Mr. Hovancsek to provide a little history on this.
Mr. Hovancsek said the Regional Sewer District took bids on Contract H-3 which is a
tunnel sanitary trunk Hillcrest Interceptor sewer that goes from F.ichmond and Wilson
Mills northerly to approximately Horizon Drive. There is an existing trunk sewer that
goes from Richmond Road to Bishop Road. The Couniy Commissioners are
constructing a County trunk sewer with tap-in charges from Bishop Road easterly along
the northerly corporation line approximately to White Road and along the south side of
White Road to S.O.M. Center. They are also going to be constructing a S.O.M. Center
trunk leg to go south of Beta Drive (so Mt. Vernon Industrial Park) can be picked up.
We have the preliminary plans, but the contractor agreement indicates that the
municipalities will be picking up the easements and paying for the engineering costs
initially. They will be reimbursed by the County at a later date. It will all be done by
open cut, mostly through the field except the portion along S.O.M. Center Road. Lake
County will be putting sewage into that trunlc sewer and paying a portion of the cost of
construction. Mr. Hovancsek said the physical digging will take place as soon as the
plans are completed and approved by the Ohio E.P.A.; the easements must be obtained
and plans must be prepared; the County will advertise the project, get a contractor, and
make the award. He does not anticipate it happening within the next 4-6 months, but it
is possible it could happen at the end of 1994. The cost estimate has been prepared, but
there are no final detailed plans at this point.
IViayor Rinker asked if this will cause disruption as far as what the people on Beech Hill
are going to see--as far as driveways, et cetera.
