He explained we must get the
County's recommendation, then we can proceed to give approval to Progressive.
Mayor Rinker said the County is looking for a formal recommendation. We can
presume quesiions could be addressed and responded to by the County before we tell
Progressive we will approve f t.
Discussion was held.
Mr. Diemert said that since we are only asking for a recommendation tonight, the
Mayor could authorize it--but it would be nice if Council would do so.
Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Ferrante, made a motion to request the County's
recommendation pertaining to the removal of the concrete barrier on Wilson Mills Road
in the area west of I-271.
Mr. Hovancsek said Progressive gave a letter to both Mayors stating they would pay
$35,000 to do this. However, at the meeting, Mr. Bloomfield had indicated they would
pay construction costs; (no limit was stated.) Mr. Hovancsek said Mr. Bloomfield said
they would consider paying more if they had a chance to review it.
Mrs. Leppla asked if we are making any commitment (by requesting the
recommendation.) She would be willing to get their input as long as our safety forces
can look at it. She is concerned with the safety factor.
Mayor Rinker said Progressive is footing the bill. We are not comrnitting to anything.
All we are asking for is a recommendation so we can make an intelligent decision.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Recommendation to be Requested
Izesolution No. 93-37, entitled; "A resolution requesting the Cuyahoga County
Treasurer to advance taxes from the proceeds of tax levies for collection year 1994."
Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole.
Mr. Basile, seconded by Mr. Ferrante, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 93-37.
IVIr.
