?
Regular Council Meeting . .
3/18/96
Page 3
Mayor Rinker had no comment.
Council President Fixler had no comment.
Building - Mr. Samac said the ditch that drained into the Thornapple pond was
cleaned about a week and a half ago. (It was authorized by Council several months
ago.) Mr. Samac said it is functioning properly. He wants to make Council aware
that on the pond itself--it is virtually completely silted in--it will have to have some
work done on it in the very near future or we will have problems upstream again.
Mayor Rinker said his recollection was that 8-10 years ago the property owner was
opposed to our cleaning it.
Mr. Samac said he has talked to the property owner recently and he thinks things
have changed.
Mayor Rinker said he would definitely like to follow up on that.
Council President Fixler asked if Mr. Hovancsek had preliminary estimates as to
what it would take to do that work. .
Mr. Hovancsek said they could come up with an estimate in about a week.
Mayor Rinker said to let him talk to Bernie--then we can get an idea of what we
might be talking about.
Eng? r- Mr. Cappello gave an update of the Worton Park project. He said they are
by Hemingway. They have about 1,350' of pipe in and are hitting hard rock. There
have been no complaints from residents other than concerning their mailboxes.
Mr. Cappello said they have talked to them about it and they are putting them back
up each day.
