Regular Council Meeting <br />3/18/96 <br />Page 4 <br />Fire - Chief Mohr said they have poured the floor for the fire station. That was the <br />last building component; from here on out is finishing work. We are still on the <br />time schedule that we will be able to occupy the building by the end of April. Chief <br />Mohr said he is planning on taking occupancy toward the end of May. <br />Finance - Mr. Brett said they sold the bonds on Thursday and the bond market went <br />down the tubes on Friday. We were fortunate to sell when we did. <br />Activities Committee - Mayor Rinker said the committee met the other night to <br />preview upcoming activities. The 75th Anniversary and fireworks will be held on <br />July 6 and the Debbie Hudacko run will be held on July 7. We are working with the <br />Historical Society. <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Samac said they met February 22. They approved <br />a house and signs for the entranceway to Kenwood Gardens. <br />Board of A1212eals - Mr. Samac said there is a meeting scheduled for tomorrow <br />evening and there are a couple of cases on the agenda. The applxcant from the <br />previous meeting has appealed to Council the Board's decision. <br />Council President Fixler said that is on the agenda. <br />Cemetery - Dr. Parker said Mr. Buckholtz has been trying to get someone who will <br />bring the new members up to speed on the historical perspective of the cemetery. <br />Citizen's Advisorv Board - Mrs. Cinco said we had two workshops with Dr. Simons <br />and Mr. O'Brien. We had a follow up meeting the following Thursday. We will be <br />disseminating information to residents. <br />Commission on A?ing, - Mr. Busa said the Card Group will meet on Thursday this <br />week because of the primary election tomorrow. The group is enjoying the new, <br />sturdy tables. They continue to meet on the first, third and fifth Tuesdays of each <br />month with blood pressure readings on the third Tuesday of the month. <br />Attendance has been good and some new members have joined the group. <br />Reservations are coming in for our upcoming trips. April 24 will be our trip to <br />Gund Arena, lunch at Hornblowers, and the Western Reserve Historical Society. <br />June 12 we will travel to Wooster for Ohio Light Opera's production of The Merrv <br />Widow. Approximately 30 people from our group attended the dress rehearsal of <br />Carousel at Mayfield High School last Thursday night.
