Regular Council Meeting <br />8/5/96 <br />Page 3 <br />Cemeterv - Mr. Buckholtz (reported for Dr. Parker) that their 2°d dedication ceremony and <br />memorial service will be held Monday, September 2"d at 10 a.m (at the Mayfield Union <br />Cemetery.) <br />Citizen's Advisorv Board- Mrs. Cinco said a meeting has been scheduled Monday, August 12 at <br />7:30 p.m. [in the Council Chambers] for the C.S.U. study to be monitored by Kevin O'Brien. He <br />is coming in with models, et cetera. <br />Commission on Aginfz - Mr. Busa said Mrs. Kalina sends the following report: Tomorrow the <br />card group will be preceded by lurich and an informational program by Kaiser Permanente. We <br />have also had sessions on insurance by Blue Cross and Qual Choice. -Our second picnic of the <br />summer will be next Monday, August 12, at 4:30 p.m. We will be either at Wiley Park or the <br />Community Room, depending on the weather. Mrs. Kalina met at the Board of Education July 11 <br />to begin work on intergenerational programming for the next school year. We will probably have <br />a session at the high school in October. Our flu shot program will be Thursday, October 24 from <br />9 to 11 a.m. in our Community Room. Those who do not have Medicare Part B will pay $S for <br />the vaccine. This is the first increase in the fee in the 9 years I've been doing this program with <br />the Cuyahoga County Board of Health. Previously the fee was $5. Those with Medicare Part B <br />pay nothing. The registration sessions will be Thursday, October 3 from 9 to 11 a.m. and <br />Monday, October 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Community Room. Bocce is now meeting Thursday <br />mornings at 9:30 a.m. for a two hour session. We appreciate the improvements made to the <br />courts. I'm working on one or two trips for the group for the fall. The new Science Center is at <br />the top of the list. Mrs. Kalina said she continues to serve on the board of Hillcrest Meals on <br />Wheels which meets once a month. We are in need of volunteers to deliver meals. There are <br />people in Mayfield Village on the waiting list to receive meals because of a lack of people to make <br />deliveries. <br />Safety and Service - Mrs. Cineo said the committee met this evening at 6:45 p.m. they discussed <br />and were made aware that specs wiil be ready in October for the 612 unit (for the Fire <br />Department.) The 25-year old tractor for the Service Dept. has been retired and we expect to see <br />it in the budget for 1997. The concession trailer is in and will be out there for the concert. A v- <br />plow (in the amount of $51000) and possible other new plows are needed for the larger trucks this <br />year. They also discussed with the Police Department, in their budget for next year, the feasibility <br />of a-suburban-type veiucle. <br />Finance Committee - Mr. Brett said they discussed and recommend approval of the following: 1) <br />1)_ Outstanding bills for RCU; <br />2) Panzica final billings (excluding the $10,000 owed to Newton); <br />3) Costs for the Village's portion of resurfacing White Road in conjunction with the County and <br />Wilson Mills <br />4) Street lighting assessments. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils -1VIrs. Cinco said there has been no meeting.
