Regular Council Meeting <br />Septembex 16, 1996 <br />3 <br />1 <br /> <br />Commission on Aizing - Dr. Parker read the report for Mr. Busa from Human Services Director <br />Eunice Kalina as follows: The fall calendar is a full one with two trips, the annual flu shot <br />program, and the Christmas party in addition to the regular activities. The October trip is to the <br />covered bridges of Ashtabula County as well as two museums-and lunch in that area. In <br />November we will visit the Great Lakes Science Center and the Western Reserve Historical <br />Society. Our flu shot program is Thursday, October 24 from 9 to 11 a.m. This will be in the <br />Community Room as will the two registration sessions (Thursday, October 3 from 9 to 11 a.m. <br />and Monday, October 7 from 1 to 3 p.xn.) The cost this year has been increased to $8. There is <br />no charge for fhose with Medicare Part B. We resumed playing bocce in the afternoon last <br />Thursday. Unless the weather warms up considerably we'll probably continue this 1 p.m. starting <br />time for the duration of the season. Cards and crafts continue to meet on alternate Tuesdays from <br />1 to 4 p.m. in the Community IZoom. <br />SafetXand Service - Mrs. Cinco said they met September 9. The Fire Chief stated that specs are <br />being prepared for the traffic signal and the rescue pumper. For Service, we discussed the 3-week <br />crack sealing program and informally approved $9,000. Beechers Brook cleaning was discussed; <br />they are waiting for the Village Engineer's analysis of the cost versus tiling. Snow plow blades <br />and other items are on the agenda tonight. <br />Finance Committee - Mr. Marquaxdt said the Finance Committee met and discussed the <br />following: <br />1) Sale of 1994 Ford Crown Victoria - recommend sale to Cruisers Unlimited <br />2) Printing of Voice of the Village - recommend approval of $3,163 to Ballash Press <br />3) Ditches & rninor storm sewer work in Worton Park area- recommend approval to <br />enter into a contract with Bond Enterprises <br />4) Reconfiguration of traffic signals along Wilson Mills - recommend approval of $7,500 <br />to, Pathmaster <br />5) Bids on snow removal- recommend getting more information prior to awarding a <br />contract <br />6) They skipped over the Community Reinvestment Housing Appointments <br />7) Requests for the sidewalk and grass maintenance ordinances were withdrawn <br />8) Ordinance 96-29 amending the appropriation ordinance - recommend approval <br />9) $3,410 for the Debbie Hudacko Memorial Walk and Run - recommend approval <br />10) $267.50 Kenwood Home Owner's Assoeiation - Landscaping Improvement - <br />recommend approval <br />11) Investment Policy & ordinance - recommend approval <br />12) Snow Plow Blades -$4,160 - Best Trucks - recornmend approval <br />13) Maintenance and assistanee on crack sealing - DJL -$8,200 - recommend approval <br />14) Leaf Truck Repair --$426.65 Recommend approval <br /> <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Dr. Parker-had no report:
