Regular Council Meeting <br />October 21, 1996 <br />Page 3 <br />Safetv and Service - Mrs. Cinco said they met October 7. At that time #he Fire Department <br />discussed bids for the fire rescue pumper that were opened October 16. She believes Council has <br />received a copy of a memo from Chief Mohr [in the 10-11-96 packet.] The Service Department <br />discussed the need for two replacement employees and one additional employee. The Committee <br />recommends approval. The Police Department discussed their existing fleet of 9 cars and their <br />1997 fleet-and requests 3 cars. They request advertising for 1996 or 1997 vehicles. <br />Finance Committee - Mr. Marquardt reported on the meeting held this evening. (See attached <br />copy of the minutes.) <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Dr. Parker said there is a brealdast meeting on October 26 at 9:30 <br />a.m. at Landerhaven. The City and County Commissioners are working together on the Federal <br />Health Reform Act. For more information, people may contact Lee Case, President, at 486-2474. <br />Historical Societv - Dr. Parker said everyone should have received a thank-you note for the signs <br />for the Quilt Show. They are very much appreciated and the Society wishes to thank everyone <br />for their efforts. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mr. Buckholtz said they met October 3. The Art Show went well. There were 140 <br />entries. They discussed plans to purchase a block of Indians tickets. The idea was well received. <br />They also talked about increasing contributions of the four cities involved in M.A.R.C. <br />Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Marquardt had no report. <br />Planning and Zoning - Mr. Ferrante said Planning & Zoning held a Workshop on October 17. <br />They discussed the change in the Progressive drive entrance and extension. We will not be voting <br />on that until the regular P&Z meeting before the November Caucus. <br />Recreation Board - Mr. Buckholtz said they met last Wednesday. They will have early softball <br />sign-up this year. They are encouraging people to do mail-in registration. They also discussed <br />Drama Camp which was popular.
