Regular Council Meeting
11-18-96
Page 10
NIr. Fenante, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a gnotion to suspend the ruies of Council requiring
an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Rules Suspended
Mr. Buckholtz, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to enact Ordinance 1Vo. 96-44.
Council President Fixler said this is a proposal that will be capped at $150,000.00 for our
acquisition of the Bonnieview property for public use by Mayfield Village residents. We have
various different appraisals and have diligently studied this matter.
Mayor Rinker said a condition that has been placed on this by the County is that we agree to use
it strictly for public purposes for 15 years. Council has r.ecommended that we limit that to 5
years. Mayor Rinker requested Council give him authority to meet the 15-year demand if need
be-but only after he has made good faith effort to negotiate the 5-year limitation and there
would be no other conditions.
There were no objections from Council.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Canied
Ordinance Enacted
Police Cars
Chief Stevens asked if Council received the memo dated November 8' from he and Donna.
Council said yes.
Chief Stevens asked if anyone had questions.
Mr. Brett asked if they should wait until 1997.
Chief Stevens said he is asking to purchase the cars from the new cooperative purchasing plan
through the State. They will be 1997 cars, but he would like to start the process now to get our
name in the hopper.
Council President Fixler asked Council's pleasure-if they want to go forward this evening.
Mr. Ferrante, seconded by Mr. Busa, made a motion to authorize the encumbrance of monies for
the purchase of three 1997 police cars. (Legislation will be forthcoming.)
