Regular Council Meeting
11-18-96
Page 5
Mr. Buckholtz said there was still some concern as to what their responsibility is such as
landscaping. Some of the grass didn't take, etc. They wondered what recourse we have-if there
could be a compromise to release part of it or something.
Councii wishes to show good faith to iVlarra and agreed to reiease $2fl,fl00 of the retainer. They wiil
retain the remaining $11,508.24.
Mr. Busa, seconded by ?'Ir. Fenante, made a motion to authorize the reiease of $20,000 of the
retainer to Marra Construction. (The Village will retain $11,508.24.)
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Canied
Authorization Given
Progressive Drivewav
Council President Fixier asiced Mr. Hancuiaic to prepare iegisiation for the i'rogressive ijrive
expansion. He asked Mr. Ferrante to explain this.
1VIr. Ferrante said they are requesting to improve the driveway.
Mr. $ioomfieid said they are requesting to move the median to the east and widen the inbound
southbound lanes. They are not doing anything to the west. They are adding 12' to the east.
Mayor Rinker said this reflects a compromise. We know residents did not want it to move west and
we made that clear. We all agreed that moving east would not be problematic. Ultimately, the
Wilson Mills expansion calls for widening of Wilson Mills to the south adding an additional
eastbound lane between I-271 and the Alpha light. The idea that Progressive is widening to the east
allows them to tie right into this additional lane.
Mr. Samac said perhaps the motion can inciude that it is being approved in accordance with the
drawings approved by the Village Engineer.
Mayor Rinker asked about a timetable for the work.
Mr. Bioomfieid said they wiii try to tie it in with the work that Noce is doing on VViison Miiis. it
will be next spring.
Mayor Rinker said Noce is trying this year to remove the concrete median on Wilson Mills proper.
Mr. Buckhoitz asiced for confirmation that the pians for the drive do not require a variance. He
questioned if when they originally put the driveway in, if that required a variance?
