Regular Council Meeting
1-25-99
Page 9
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Expenditure Authorized
A motion to authorize an expenditure in the amount of $8,385.79 to L_yndhurst Municipal
Court for 1998 court expenses
Dr. Parker, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to authorize an expenditure in the amount of
$8,385.79 to Lyndhurst Municipal Court.
Mr. Busa said he thinks he asks for an explanation every year- but asked the Law Director to explain
why we must pay the Court.
Mr. Diemert said the Court" takes the number of cases it has from this Village compared to all other
cities within the court's jurisdictiom and divides it up according to the number of cases we have in
relation to all others and the total cost the Court incurs in its operational budget. (Our cost is in
relation to everybody elses in the Lyndhurst Court System.)
Mr. Busa asked if it is fair.
Mr. Diemert said it is as fair as it can be. They make a lot of the defendant's pay court costs but
those costs don't amount to the total expenses the Court incurs.
Mayor Rinker said the Court runs efficiently compared to a lot ofmunicipal courts.
Mr. Busa said he is in favor of a Mayor's Court.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Expenditure Authorized
Mr. Marquardt requested a motion to- amend the agenda ta include a motion to authorize payment
not to exceed $7,500 to Vallejo Company for additional work on the bike path along S.O.M. Center
Road. This was on the Finance Committee agenda but not on this agenda.
The agenda was amended by acclimation.
Mr. Busa, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to authorize an expenditure in an amount not to
exceed $7,500 to Vallejo Company.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Expenditure Authorized
