Regular Council Meeting
February 15,1999
Page 6
Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Rules Suspended
1Vifrs. Cinco, seconded by Mrs. Mills, ma.de a motion to authorize a change order in the amount of
$134,700 to Night Vision.
Mr. Brett said this is the same road we just had a change order for. Night Vision is providing us the
lighting fixtures for IVorth Commons Boulevard and Parlcview Drive. Now, they are extending the
same lighting fixtures down this road and along the bike path into the parking lot of the swimming
pool. In the parking lot itself, in the islands, will be identical style lamps. We are essentially
looking at putting lights to match the lights on the northern portion of North Commons Boulevard
and the bike path. The pool contract itself calls for lighting in the parking lot so part of this will be
removed from the pool contract which will result in a savings of about $30,000.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
A motion to award the salt bid to Morton Thiokol, Inc. for the 1998-99 winter season
Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Fixler, made a motion to award the salt bid to Morton Thiokol, Inc. for
the 1998-99 winter season. -- - Mr. Brett said we have probably done this before but it is not in the record: We went out for bids;
this is to formalize that action. - -
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
First Reading of Ordinance No. 99-03, entitled; "An emergency ordinance authorizing the
acquisition of a right-of-way-easement from Gladys, and James Rivers."
