?
u

Regular Council Meeting
3-15-99
Page 11
Mr. Busa said many years ago (when he had the authority and his Council didn't want to listen)
he was approached by an attorney named Kelly for Metropolitan Parks who asked if Mr. Busa
was concerned or interested in buying 350' of frontage on S.O.M. Center Road on the east side in
all of Mayfield Village. His Council did not want to get involved. It might be wise to explore
that before something else happens.
Mayor Rinker asked what portion of the east side of S.O.M. Center Road and when was he
approached.
Mr. Busa said all the east side--all the parks to the Church, Hickory Hill from White Road. Mr.
Busa said his Council didn't want to go along with it. He thinks somebody should look into it.
Mayor Rinker said one of the things we will look at very closely is what kind of tie-ins we can
accomplish with the Metroparks down the road. We look forward to a future relationship with
the Metroparks for a variety of activities and coordinating our park with their park.
Mr. Busa said it was approximately 1970-71. He asked if the Village had any correspondence on
file.
Mrs. Roman said we got rid of almost all the correspondence that was that old.
Mr. Hovancsek said he is familiar with Mr. Kelly; he is the former Mayor of Shaker Heights. He
was the legal counsel for the Metroparks Their legal counsel changed many years ago.
ADJOURNMENT
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Buckholtz, made a motion to adjourn.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
The meleting adjourned at 8:50 p.m.
11,129%
?
