Regular Council Meeting
4-19-99
Page 17
have to put provisions in for six 50' poles with the sports fixtures--it would be $47,000. $88,000
is to put in a 30' pole with a sports light and a decorative fixture for night swimming and it would
all be done now.
Mr. Muhlbach recommends going with a straight pole in case we would ever want to hang a
banner or a plant. The poles would be fiberglass (the Night Vision pole was concrete) and could
be green to match the others but they wouldn't be as decorative with the Village logo, et cetera.
Mr. Brett asked if there were any poles in the area.
Mr. Muhlbach will check.
Council President Marquardt asked if this can wait until the next Caucus--two weeks.
Mr. Muhlbach said if we ha.ve to, we will.
Council President Marquardt said he would like to see the information laid out in a nice, neat
chart--exactly what our options are and he would like to have a recommendation [from Mr.
Thomas] on what we should do. He would like to see this narrowed down to basic factors--what
are the options on doing it. He would like this put in a package that Council would receive a
week before the meeting so they can look at it and come to a conclusion.
Mr. Metzung asked if the -new poles will go in the same locations as area lighting they have-set
up for now.
Mr. Muhlbach said yes.
Mr. Metzung said asked if the decorative area lighting would be option 2. If we decided to have
the night swimming, could they just remove those poles and put smaller poles with more
fixtures.
Mr. Muhlbach said to go to the night swimming option there would be 15 poles. Chances are the
anchors_ for the base may not be in the same place. There is more to it than tha.t--it would involve
taking out the deck, etc.
Council President Marquardt requested clear information that Council won't have to sort through.
Mr. Brett said we need to know what each option costs plus wha.t other options we are
precluding.
ApJOURNMEIATT
-,-
?
There being no further business, Mrs. Mills seconded by Mr. Buckholtz, made a motion to
adjourn.
