Regular Council Meefing <br />4-19-99 <br />T'age 2 <br />Service - Mr. Metzung said there was a pool construction meeting earlier this evening with the <br />architect engineer. We wanted to let them know we are concerned with finishing the pool on <br />time. <br />Council President Marquardt asked what are they projecting. <br />Mr. Metzung said about 20 minutes before opening day. They said the day before there will be <br />people working there. <br />Buildin? - Mr. Samac said Progressive's Building One is nearing completion and they <br />expect to occupy it within a few weeks or so. Building Two is progressing nicely. <br />Fire - Chief Mohr said the bicycle-helmet sale went well; over 200 helmets were sold. They plan <br />to hold a sale again next year. <br />Parks & Recreation - Mr. Thomas distributed a monthly progress report to Council. He said we <br />are promoting two excursions: Cedar Point and White Water Rafting. He will give Council <br />information about camp, softball, etc. soon. The pool is his main focus now. He has made many <br />contacts with key people and believes they will grow. We are looking for sand volleyball teams <br />and for people to go on the trips. We will be doing news releases and including information in <br />the Voice of the Village. <br />STANDING COMIVYITTEE REPORTS <br />Activities Committee - Mrs. Roman said the Committee met last week. We finalized several <br />plans for July 3rd. We will have additional activities because of the pool opening. She cited <br />some of the activities that will take place at Wiley Park, the Gazebo and the Pool. Volunteers are <br />still needed for the Mother's Day Pancake Breakfast. The Committee will meet next month to <br />finalize plans for'SOs Night. Fliers will be forthcoming on all events. <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Samac said there was a meeting on April8th and the Board <br />approved one_ addition for a residential dwelling. <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Samac said they will meet tomorrow evening. <br />Cemeterv - Mrs. Mills said the special education students worked at the cemetery. She is making <br />a request that a land survey be done of the cemetery property. The topography needs to be <br />checked since the driveway is in need of repair. These costs would be reimbursed by the <br />cemetery fund. Mrs. Mills met with Dorothy Buzek regarding the future maintenance of the <br />cemetery. Roger Remec. has agreed to repair the gravestones as needed. This work will be done <br />by the students as a school project. Some work hours will be paid from the cemetery fund. <br />Mayfield Village and Highland Heights have paid their dues. Mrs. Mills asked Council's ? <br />feelings on the land survey. <br />Council appreciated being made aware of it and expressed their approvai.
