Regular Council Meeting <br />4-19-99 <br />Page 3 <br />llr. Parker said the dues were lowered when Gates Mills came in. <br />Mr. Brett said the communities were assessed $1,000 this year. We will watch the cash balance <br />and next year will look at the ending balance and assess accordingly. <br />Mrs. Mills said the Cemetery is also getting estimates on wrought iron fencing. If it is too <br />expensive, they won't do it. <br />Citizen's Advisory Board - There was no report. <br />Commission on Aging - Mr. Busa read the report from Mrs. Kalina, attached. <br />Safety and Service - Mrs. Cinco said the Committee met AprilSth. Council received the minutes <br />in their packet last week. At that point, they had asked Chief Stevens to put together a helmet <br />and laser pointer ordinance for Safety and Service to review. She hopes it will be ready for May. <br />Finance Committee - Mr. Fixler said the Finance Committee met this evening. (The agenda is <br />attached to the minutes.) The Committee recommends approval of all items except #4. <br />Regarding #14, the Committee was 2/3 split on approving some of the pool equipment. Lounge <br />chairs and tables were requested in the amount of $14,000. Two-thirds of the committee thought <br />we should purchase double that amount. This will be discussed when it comes up on the agenda. <br />There was also an item #15 on the agenda for an expenditure in the amount of $3,721.20 to <br />Anthem Life for employee life insurance. <br />Hillcrest Cou.ncil of Councils - Mrs. Cinco said there was no report. <br />Historical Societv - Mrs. Mills said the Historical Society wishes to thank the Mayfield Village <br />Administration for their continuing support. Work on the Log Cabin has been put on hold for the <br />time being with most of their effort being on the one-room School House. Work on the outdoor <br />lighting has begun. Our monthly open house for May has been changed to the second Sunday to <br />coincide with the Pancake Breakfast and Garden Club Sale--9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Mothers will <br />get in free, family members will be charged $1.00. Three school tours have been scheduled <br />along with one Brownie Troop and one Women's Club in the next three weeks. Toda.y, a 9t'' <br />Grade Civic Class who are doing a study of Mayfield Village spent about 3 hours at the House. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mrs. Cinco said they met April 8t'. They discussed the possible new summer <br />programs and getting together withAdult Education. <br />Mr. Thomas said he talked to Barb and his understanding is that meeting went well. <br />Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Fixler deferred to Mr. Buckholtz who attended for him. <br />Mr. Buckholtz said the committee met and Mr. Samac brought forth a well written rewrite of the <br />sign ordinance regarding neon.
