Regular Council Meeting <br />5-17-99 <br />Page 21 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Rinker said we are producing increased traffic flow. This will help maintain it. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Enacted <br />First Reading of Ordinance No. 99-20, entitled; "An emergency ordinance creat'ing Section <br />537.21 of the Codified Ordinances pertainuig to the possession and use of laser pointing <br />devices.° Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole. <br />Mrs. Cinco said a lot more information has come in that may be incorporated and Safety & <br />Service recommends the ordinance be given just the first reading this evening. <br />Ordinance 99-20 was given first reading. <br />-First Reading of Ordinance No. 99-21, entitled; "An emergency ordinance creating two <br />positions within the Service Department entitled; "Administrative Assistant for Roads" and <br />"Administrative Assistant for Public Land and Buildings." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and <br />Council as a Whole. <br />Dr. Parker, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring an <br />ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Fixler, made a motion to ena.ct Ordinance No. 99-21. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Enacted <br />Council President Marquardt said Mr. Metzung has requested the agenda be amended for the <br />purpose of authorizing the hire of two new employees for the Service Department. <br />Mr. Metzung said this would not be in addition to the two positions per Ordinance 99=21. This is <br />for two additional employees bringing our total nuxnber of employees up to 8. The two positions <br />Council just created will come out of the field of 8. <br />Mr. Fixler, seconded by Mr. Buckholtz, made a motion to amend the agenda to include <br />authorization to hire 2 additional employees for the Service Department.
