Special Council Meeting
1/2/95
Page Eleven
Mr. Ferrante, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to amend Ordinance No. 94-55 per
the amendments stated by Mr. Diemert (above.)
ROLL CALL: AYES: Mr. Basile, Mr. Buckholtz, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante, Mr. Fixler
NAYS: Mr. Flynn*
ABSTAIN: Mr. Busa
*Immediately after the roll call, Mr. Flynn said he would like to change his vote and
vote "AYE". Mrs. Cinco said the second reading will show it as amended.

Mayor Rinker asked if there was anything else that anyone is not sure on--on this.
Police Cars
Mrs. Cinco said it was brought to her attention that the police chief said there is a need
at this time to adjust the police car ordinance that was passed on the 19th of December
to reflect a price increase.
Mr. Brett explained we ordered the police cars stripped. We put an allowance in the
ordinance for some options to put in and those options came in higher than we
anticipated. It results to about a$2,400 increase for all four cars.
Chief Stevens said the adjusted figure would be $68,711 for four cars (3 police cars and
one fire department car.) He explained that when the ordinance was passed he called in
the order. Then, they faxed him a list of options that he never even knew existed; (such
as having the fleet keyed alike et cetera.)
Mr. Fixler said two weeks after they passed the ordinance, he read in the Plain Dealer
that indicated General Motors, in all likliehood, will be discontinuing that model in
1996. His concern is that the trade-in allowance (whenever we need to sell them will
probably be drastically less), but more importantly--he asked if we will have any
problems getting parts for them.
Chief Stevens said he wouldn't anticipate a shortage in parts. He read that article as
well. We might find out they are worth more money when it is time to get rid of them.
A brief discussion was held.
