Special Council Meeting
1/2/95
Page Ten
Mrs. Cinco said she thinks we need to put it in this ordinance.
Mr. Diemert said he has worked out something. In the whereas, we would put "on
annual reports from the school district, within a time frame which we agreed upon", so
that each year Council could say we want it by this date and the school can respond and
say we can't because we don't close our books until that date--so he would hate to have
them pick a date now. "To be reviewed by Mayor and Council", ...then, in the close put
in "the revenue sharing will continue for the remaining--instead of five years- just cross
out five years and put "for the remaining period of this commitment."
Mr. Buckholtz said can't you just say they are responsible for an annual report and add
"to be made available (or distributed) to all Mayfield Village residents."
Mayor Rinker said on one hand you don't; and on the other, as long as we are
addressing it now--it is telling people at a later date we are looking to be proactive.
Mr. Diemert said they could put "within a time frame mutually agreed upon and
distributed to all Village residents by the school board."
Mayor Rinker said jointly published--joint publication--by the school and the Village.
Mr. Diemert said and a time frame mutually agreed upon and jointly published (or
distributed--or maybe we could say newspaper rather than mailing...) to all Village
residents.
Mr. Flynn said he thinks they deserve a mailing. He does not think that will be that
aggressive or demanding.
Mr. Diemert said to say "within a time frame mutually agreed upon and jointly
distributed to all Village residents specifying how such revenues have been allocated."
Then, under Section One we would amend after the $100,000 per year, "such revenue
sharing will be contingent on the Village receiving an annual report by a date each year
mutually agreed upon and jointly distributed to all Village residenfs from the school
district detailing how much revenues have been allocated" etc. and take out the ten year
review and take out the five year. Mr. Diemert said they could include that within the
motion to amend if they so desire.
Mrs. Cinco asked if it is Council's wish to amend this tonight.
