They are trying to have the
lighting in by July 4, if the weather cooperates.
Council President Fixler asked Mr. Diemert if he wants to have legislation
prepared for this. He said it is Mr. Diemert's call; he will go by his
recommendation.
Consideration of Sign Variance, 760 Beta Drive--for color of a
temporary sign for Ostendorf Morris Company with a 9-month time limit
from the time of application.
Tom Gustafson, a representative. from Ostendorf-Morris said Council has
granted a variance for height of the sign; they are asking approval on a
variance for color. The current sign is four different colors. He showed the
proposed sign to Mayor Rinker, Council and members of the audience.
Mr. Ferrante said it is the feeling of the Planning and Zoning Commission
that we not approve the variance for color. The ordinance states the lettering
must be white on a dark baclcground. That is what they would like to see
done.
Council President Fixler said you are replacing a sign that is currently up
there--does the sign currently have four colors?
Tom Gustafson, a representative from Ostendorf Morris said yes; there are
three combinations--there is red on yellow, black on yellow, white on black.
Mr. Fixler asked when they received the permit for that sign.
Tom Gustafson, a representative from Ostendorf Morris said he had no
knowledge of that date.
Mr. Samac said he believes it has been up for several years.
Mrs. Cinco said this sign faces I-271; it is not for viewing in any residential
neighborhood.
?J
