Regular Council Meeting
7/19/95
Page 11
Architectural Review Board - Mr. Samac said the Board had two meetings. They
approved a couple of new homes, several decks, fences and pools.
Board of Appeals - Mr. Samac said they met June 27. They had one agenda item--a
request for a variance to allow a 6' high fence on a side yard property line. The
Board of Zoning Appeals denied that request.
Ce? - Mr. Buckholtz said the new sign has been just about completed. It will
be going up in the next several weeks. Mr. Busa had pointed out to him that there
was no flagpole there. The flagpole that was at the fire station will be purchased by
the Cemetery Committee. They are planning a dedication presentation for Labor
Day. They hope to round up some veterans not only from our community, but
from Highland Heights and from Mayfield Heights. Both communities are very
interested in promoting the concept of the Mayfield Union Cemetery, so we hope to
plan a nice dedication for Labor Day.
Citizen's Advisory Board - Mrs. Cinco said they are scheduled to meet July 24 at 8
p.m.
Commission on Aging - Mr. Busa said the Senior Gentry is holding the second
picnic of the summer this evening in the Community Room. The next picnic is
scheduled for August 22. Bocce has moved to Thursday mornings at 9:30 a.m. Our
trip August 9 to Ohio Light Opera [to see Gypsy Love] is almost filled. The flu shot
program with the Board of Health has been scheduled for Monday, October 30 from
1-3:30 p.m. Sign-up dates are set for September 22 from 1-3 p.m. and September 28
from 9-11 a.m. The cost is $5 per person. Persons having Medicare Part B will have
no fee to pay. Cards and crafts continue to meet on Tuesday from 1-4 p.m.
Safet? and Service - Mrs. Cinco said they did not meet this evening due to the
vacationing Chiefs.
Finance Committee - Mr. Flynn said the Committee discussed and recommends
approval on just about everything down the line: 1) Payment to Ameritech for
maintenance of E-911 Positron equipment; 2) Proposal by Nextel Corp. re antenna--
Council President Fixler has comments on this item; 3) Bids for snow removal - the
Committee and Mr. Brett it would be the most efficient and least time consuming to
have the bids for one year; 4) North County Line Trunk Sewer 3-party agreement; 5)
Uniform Allowance change; 6) Law Director, Prosecutor, Engineer's 1995 wage
ordinance--the Council President will discuss that in Executive Session; 7) A.G.
Edwards proposal for underwriting fire station bonds--will be on second reading; 8)
Issue 11 awards--we may have some questions for the Law Director on this item;
