They discussed the question of
whether the M.A.R.C. track meet will continue since attendance has been so low.
Family Ventures Baseball outing was extremely successful. They are looking
forward to a new look for the Art Show which will be at the Mayfield Regional
Library. The next meeting will be in September.
Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Basile said they talked about parking of vehicles
on front lawn areas. (He quoted the applicable section of the code.) They also
discussed the sign ordinance.
Council President Fixler asked if they were discussing the consensus of whether a
sign like the Ostendorf-Morris sign that came before Council would have been
acceptable.
Mr. Basile said no, they weren't.
Council President Fixler asked if they were looking at a reversal of colors--or is that
premature.
Mr. Basile said that is premature.
Planning and Zoning - Mr. Ferrante said they met prior to the Council Meeting this
evening. They discussed the Village Park of Mayfield (Aintree Park Apartments)-- a
variance was requested for the construction of a ground sign on S.O.M. Center on
Aintree Park Drive. They voted yes 4-2. They voted yes on the request for approval
of a new clubhouse and pool to replace the existing ones. They approved the request
for an overall site parking due to an increase in size in the Clubhouse. The
Commission discussed Deacon's Chrysler-Plymouth request for rezoning the lots
and members unanimously voted no. Mr. Koren proposed lot realignment--he
thinks they will just postpone the vote because it is going to be re-voted on. For the
Home Bank sign variance which reverses the coloring of the sign--dark letters on a
white background which is against our ordinance--was voted unanimously no.
