Regular Council Meeting
7/20/95
Page 15
Mr. Busa said he is not happy with a 30-year contract; it is too many years.
Council President Fixler explained that once the Village's equipment is on their
antenna, we want to be sure that antenna will remain there so we won't have to
worry about where our equipment will be housed. That is the only source of
communication our safety forces will have. It is a two-way, long-term agreement.
We are looking at the longevity of the Fire Station as a minimum of 30 years.
Therefore, we would need a minimum of a 30-year commitment to house our
electronics. He asked if Mayfield Village will take ownership of the tower.
The representative from Nextel said yes. He asked the representative to get in touch
with Mr. Diemert.
Fire Lt. Ken Shrefler said they had a question regarding emergency power. If power
is interrupted, are they planning to use the Village's generator. The representative said no. They were not planning for a long-term or permanent
generator. However, they will probably look to see where they could accommodate
a plug.
Lt. Shrefler said we will have a system in our building, if they would be willing to
help pay for the emergency system.
The representative said he does not have the power to give a"yes" on that. We can
look at.
The representative said he will get back to Mr. Fixler by the end of the week.
Confirmation of new Recreation members (motion) - Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mr.
Buckholtz, made a motion to confirm the appointment of Michele Buckholtz, Jean
Fernandez and Ralph Vitale.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Appointments Confirmed
A motion to approve a lot s:plit for Alfred DiMarco of 697 Echo Drive - Mrs. Cinco,
seconded by Mr. Fixler, made a motion to approve a lot split for Alfred DiMarco of
697 Echo Drive.
