380
Regular Council Meeting
11/20/95
Page Two
Mr. DeLuca reported it has been too wet to pick up leaves with the leaf machine.
They were able to get a contractor to come in yesterday with a front end loader to
help pick up leaves in the Worton Park area. This morning they finished cleaning
up the Seneca, Glenview, Bonnieview area. If the weather is on our side tomorrow,
they will work in the Sandalwood, Walnut, Butternut area. The contractor is
scheduled to work from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. Mr. DeLuca said all the snow removal
equipment is ready to go. They are in the process of training three part-time
employees. The Service Department will begin working three shifts in December.
One full-time and one part-time employee will work each shift. The full-time
employees will plow the main streets. The part-timers will start by plowing the
secondary streets.
?J
Mayor Rinker said he is very pleased with how Mr. DeLuca is keeping him apprised
of everything going on. He has drafted a flier that will go out with the Voice of the
Village. We are giving residents until December 4 to get their leaves out. The
Service Department will be off Thanksgiving and Friday, but will be back for the
weekend: We will probably call the contractor liack in Saturday and Sunday or
Sunday and Monday to complete what we started this weekend. Mayor Rinker
asked if they could supplement the work with our leaf vacuum when possible.
Mr. DeLuca said they are planning to do so.
Mr. Diemert said he believes we have the North County Line lawsuit objection
settled. He hopes to have a Judgment Entry in the next few days.
Council President Fixler said Mr. Brett is on vacation.
Activities Committee - Mayor Rinker reminded everyone of the annual tree
lighting ceremony on December 3 at 7 p.m. The Center School choir and High
School band will attend.
Architectural Review Board - Mr. Samac said they met November 9 and approved a
fence and a deck. Board of Appeals - Mr. Samac said they had no agenda items; there was no meeting.
