Regular Council Meeting
2-16-98
Page 12
Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Marquardt, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring a
resolution to be read on three separate occasions.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Rules Suspended
Mr. Busa, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to adopt Resolution No. 98-05.
Council President Fixler asked the cost of the contract, for the record.
Mr. Cappello said it will be $17,810.
1VIrs. Cinco asked the anticipated starting date and the length of time this project will take.
Mr. Cappello said a preconstruction meeting will be scheduled soon. He believes a 30-day
completion date was given in their bid. ,
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Resolution Adopted
Site Plan Approval - Progressive Insurance
Mr. Diemert said perhaps before we go to this [agenda item], Council should consider the access
road offof S.O.M. connecting to the development site.
Access Road - from S:O.M. Center to North Chagrin Commons Boulevard
Mr. Diemert asked if the Village Engineer was able to come up with an agreement on the location of
that road.
Mr. Hovancsek said yes. The flood plain is noted on the plan and it can be shifted approximately
50' to the south with the exact same configuration that it has. He spoke with the architect for
Progressive and he concurred that if it could move into the same spot on their site it would not be a
problem. The flood plain is farther north thaxi he thought it might be. Fifty feet would take us to the
edge of the flood plain and he suggests we do that. It is acceptable to Progressive's architect to do
that also.
Mr. Diemert said if it is acceptable to Council, we should have a motion to approve the location of
the S.O.M. Center access road. We will bring in a formal ordinance later on for development and
location of the utilities. He thinks the developer will need to have approval tonight.
