Regular Council Meeting
2-16-98
Page 14
OPEN POBTION - 3 minute limit imposed by Chair. Those who wish to speak must first state
their name and address. This open portion is limited to discussion pertaining to the items under
"New Business" only.
There were no comments.
ANY OTHER MATTER THAT MAY COME BEFORE COUNCIL
CLOSING COMNMNTS
Mrs. Mills asked when Phase 2 of the North County Trunk Line project will begin.
Mr. Hovancsek said he spoke with the County Sanitary Engineer's Office last week. There will
be a pre-construction meeting at the beginning of March. He urged them to move the project
forward. He spoke with Chief Stevens today who advised him that 50's Night will be held June
13. He has written a letter to the Sanitary Engineer urging them to try to substantially complete
this project prior to June 13.
Mr. Busa apologized to Council for being so vocal during Executive Session.
Council President Fixler said he thinks we need to look for another animal warden. Recently he
has had a skunk problem. Our animal warden came and set a trap. He caught a raccoon but not
a skunk. Mr. Fixler said the animal warden said he would not come back until Mr. Fixler put
screening around the deck. Consequently, they hired a private company. They spent $100 and
they caught a skunk after a few days. His point is that Village residents should not have to hire
for the removal of any animal.
NIr. Busa had experienced trouble also.

Mayor Rinker said we have just had a very monumental meeting and from outward appearances
one would not be able to tell it. We have gone through a lot of negotiation. All of us ha.ve
wrestled with this in varying degrees. We have a long way to go. But tonight is a very
significant step that we have taken on the North,Chagrin Commons. He thinks everyone should
feel proud of what we are accomplishing and wlala.' we are looking towards. We ha.ve had a
chance to express a lot of ?jff.erent opinions but bottom line is we are building for our future.
We are developing some 6 best possible plans of public and private partnering that can be
accomplished in this area. We have already heard from outside our coMmunity and he does not
doubt we will hear a lot more. The commitment alone-a million do ? commitment from
, ?
Progressive Insurance Company for a recreational facility, a swimm .? pool for our residents for
our community, all as a consequence of everyone here. We should ?0.$raud of it and happy ..
about what we are doing and look forward to what we have yet to acapmplish. He thanked
everyone.
