Regular Council Meeting <br />2-16-98 <br />Page 2 . <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS <br />Service - Mr. Metzung said he had distributed an agenda showing what they look to do in the <br />upcoming year. If anyone has any questions or comments, they should feel free to contact him. <br />Buildin? - Mr. Samac said Whiting Turner has asked us to allow the installation of temporary <br />utility poles for a yeax or two to service power for Phase I and II until they are able to obtain <br />electrical power. <br />Mr. Brett said he has a copy of the Whiting-Turner proposal. He also has the drawing showing <br />the proposed location of the poles if anyone would like to review it. We have amended the <br />proposal to grant permission to put the utility poles in for one year, at which time permission can <br />be renegotiated. It seems pretty straight forward. <br />STANDING COMIVIITTEE REPORTS <br />Activities Committee - Mrs. Roman said the Mother's Day Pancake Breakfast and `SOs Night <br />are the next events scheduled. Since we are already receiving requests for use of the Community <br />Room and Wiley Park for 1999, we will be requesting 1999 calendars from community groups <br />shortly. <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Samac said the Board met February 12. The Board did not <br />approve an addition. <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Samac said the Board of Appeals met January 20. They granted a height <br />variance to Progressive for their first two office buildings. They will meet tomorrow evening to <br />act on a variance request for parking for a proposed restaurant across the street. <br />Cemeterv - Dr. Parker had no report. <br />Citizen's Advisory Board - Mrs. Cinco said they met February 9. Jim Mason was re-elected <br />Chairman. They went over the general organization of the committee and what was expected of <br />them and what they can do for the Village. The next meeting will be held March 30. <br />Commission on Aging - Mr. Busa read the report submitted by Mrs. Kalina. (A copy is attached <br />to the minutes.) <br />Safety and Service - Mrs. Cinco said the committee met February 2. They discussed the tree <br />trimming in Aintree and Aintree North and on Walnut. Those areas have sidewalks. Mr. <br />Metzung told her this evening that he received estimates in excess of $10,000 so we will have to <br />go out for bid. The second item was the underground storage tanks. She quoted the estimates <br />received. Mr. Metzung will keep Council informed.
