Regular Council Meeting <br />4-20-98 <br />Page 3 <br />Safety and 5ervice - Mrs. Cinco said they met April 6. The Police I?epartment reported <br />on anticipated traffic problems with the North County Sewer I'roject. 'The Commiftee <br />recoxrunended ball field renovation and piuchase of amower for the Service <br />Department. They will request #ormal estimates for refurbishing the service garage <br />floor. Concerning underground storage tanks, the Comn?ittee requests going out for <br />bid. <br />N1r.1Vletzung saad he is working with a gentleman from an engineering firm who has <br />offered to review the proposals after they coine in. He will help us be sure we get what <br />we want. <br />Finance Committee - Mr. Mapquardt saict the committee met this evening. An agenda is <br />attached -to the minufies for reference. The Commi.ttee xeconrmended approval of items <br />1-7. He asked Mrs. Roman what the amaunt. to Waiter Drane Company covers (re item <br />no. 6.) <br />Mrs. Roman said the $4,225 covers recodification of the codified ordinanees for 1997 <br />and extra copies of the separate P&Z code books. We received a separate estixnate to <br />put our entire code on clisk. [Note: Tnformation will be included in Councii's packet <br />regarcling putting the code on clisk. The codified ordinances were updated from 10-22- <br />96 through 3-1-98.1 <br />Mr. Marquardt said the Committee cliscussed itenns 8-10-- (S) the Midvale propexxy <br />regarding consiruction of an access road; legislation is on tonight's agenda (9) Mr. <br />Sama.c was going to go vut for bid far all 3. This item will be on the agenda foar the next <br />meeting; (10) tree trimming--the Committee recomanencLs going with the lowest <br />bidders. <br />Hillcrest Council of Couneils -Dr. Parker said they will meet Apri125. There will be a <br />number of spealcers as well as a guest from PERS. <br />Historicai Societv - Mrs. Mills gave an update on the progress at the Historical House. <br />She described an article that appeared on the front page of the IVews Herald--they are <br />worlcimg wiith Stars for a Cure and are raffling a quilt for the Quilt Show. Half the <br />proceeds will`be donatect to that organizaiaon for cancer research. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mrs. Cinco said they discussed the summer programs. <br />Ordinance Review Committee - IVIr. Maxquardt said they met Tuesday ancr cliscussed <br />converting to a standarclized building code for 1-2-3 family s!rucfiams. 1W1r. Samac
