Regular Council Meeting <br />6-15-98 <br />Page 5 <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Mr. Zofcin, from Brandstetter Carroll Zofcin, Inc. appeared before Council. He made a presentation of <br />the proposed pool and bath house buildings and showed the site plan. Mr. Zofcin stated he has been meeting <br />with both the Recreation Steering and Citizens Advisory Committees. Stated the main issues are the site plan, <br />pool and bath house. Stated the site would be on the southern half of the property. Parcel is closer access to the <br />residents. Advised the pond is a fixed location. Mr. Zofcin gave long overview of activities, measurements of <br />pool itself and showed plans for site, pool and bathhouse. Stated they have drawn two different styles of <br />buildings, one a more traditional and one a more contemporary. <br />Mr. Fixler asked if the Recreation Steering Committed favored one over the other. Mr. Zofcin advised they <br />liked the more traditional. <br />Mr. Fixler asked if there was a cost estimate for the different styles. Mr. Zofcin stated it would be minimal. <br />Mr. Fixler asked about the timing of the project. Mr. Zofcin advised if Council tonight approved the drawings, <br />it would go to the construction document phase which takes about two months; then fmal approval to go out for <br />bid. Bidding process would take approximately one month and then time to review the bid and award same to a <br />contractor, probably in October. Then for the contractor to fmally start would be about November 1St <br />Depending on the winter, it would be done approximately June but more realistically the first of July 1999 <br />which would cover that season and the opening of the pool the next season with wrap around warranties. <br />Mr. Fixler stated he would like a motion from Council for a conceptual approval of these specifications to then <br />start the bid process and said Recreation Steering and Citizens Advisory Committees already ironed these items <br />out. <br />Mr. Metzung asked about the roadway going to the pool. Mr. Fixler stated that once the project goes on, they <br />will deal with the roadway. <br />Mr. Busa requested further input from both Mr. Marquardt and Mr. Buckholtz as they have been on these <br />committees and worked the closest on these plans. <br />Mr. Marquardt advised that there have been numerous meetings and concerns from people within the <br />community which have been incorporated into this plan. Mr. Marquardt feels this is a very workable plan, the <br />way it is now. <br />Mr. Buckholtz stated they have taken into consideration, the configurations and locations of the pool and the <br />whole area. He further stated they will do a very professional survey of the community for future needs. <br />Mayor Rinker advised between recreation and the swim programs, it is a top quality proposal. <br />Mr. Fixler asked for a motion to approve the concept of this plan for the pool and other amenities. <br />
