Regular Council Meeting <br />8-3-98 <br />Page 2 <br />Council President Fixler had no comment. <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS <br />Service - Mr. Metzung said last month Council authorized land clearing. He wants to let them <br />know the work was not needed. <br />Law Department - Mr. Diemert said Ordinance No. 98-29 deals with amending the Charter. If <br />Mayor Rinker and Council wish to have this issue on the November 3`d ballot, the legislation <br />must get to the Board of Elections before the beginning of September. Otherwise, we would <br />have to wait until the May Primary. <br />Mr. Brett requested amendments to the agenda for approval of water bills and legislation for a <br />new police console. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Activities Committee -Mrs. Roman said the Fourth of July festivities went well. The next <br />Activities Committee meeting will be held in October. The next event is the tree lighting <br />ceremony. <br />Mrs. Mills said the concerts are going well. Over 150 people have been in attendance at most <br />concerts. <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Samac said the committee met and considered plans for a new <br />house, garage and a deck with enclosure. <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Samac said the Board met and granted variances for side and rear yard <br />setbacks and the overall height of poles. <br />Cemetery - Dr. Parker said there was no report. <br />Citizen's Advisor~oard -Mrs. Cinco said there was no report. <br />Commission on Aging -Mrs. Cinco read the report for Mr. Busa. (A copy is attached to the <br />minutes.) <br />Safetx and Service -Mrs. Cinco said there was no meeting; no report. <br />Finance Committee - Mr. Brett reported on the nine items on the agenda. All were <br />recommended for approval. (A copy of the agenda is attached to the minutes.) <br />Hillcrest Council ofCouncils - Dr. Parker said there was no report. <br />
