Regular Council Meeting <br />8-3-98 ' <br />Page 3 <br />Mrs. Cinco said she just received information in the mail regazding a luncheon at Landerhaven <br />on Saturday, September 12. <br />Historical Society -Mrs. Mills said work is continuing on the Log Cabin using the new load of <br />logs. The second smoke alarm has been installed. The painting on the second floor has been <br />completed and the new carpeting has been placed. The Saturday Work Crew will be taking the <br />month of August off. The Quilters will still meet on Mondays as usual. The Historic House will <br />be open to the public for tours on the third Sunday of the month from 1-4 p.m. The Annual Ice <br />Cream Social and Open House will be held September 9, 1998 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the <br />Historic House. A $3 donation is requested. <br />M.A.R.C. -Mrs. Cinco said there is no report--no meeting in July. They will be meeting this <br />Thursday. <br />Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Samar said the Committee met July 14. The committee <br />discussed the ordinance on procedures as requested by Mr. Busa. They also discussed legislation <br />amending the Building Code. (It is on tonight's agenda--Ord. 98-28. Mr. Samar recommended <br />it be given first reading. There will be time for further discussion before it is passed.) <br />Plannin~Land Zoning -Mrs. Mills reported the Commission met this evening. They <br />recommended two items for Council approval: the site plan for the Science Center at the High <br />School and the installation of an antenna along I-271 by Sprintcom Telecommunications. <br />Recreation Board -There was no report. <br />Sewer Liaison Committee -Council President Fixler said the meeting with the Septic Home <br />Owner's Association went well. In excess of 100 people attended. <br />Dr. Parker said we had discussed placing a member as a liaison; Council should address that <br />request. <br />•~Crou~c~il President Fixler said they requested a resident become a member of the Sewer Liaison <br />-~oYn'~lttee as a liaison between Council and the committee. He believes Council must address <br />:fit--we may need legislation. <br />Mr. Diemert said since the committee wasn't created by legislation, Council could appoint a <br />civilian to the committee but they cannot vote. <br />Council President Fixler asked Mrs. Roman to write a letter to Mr. Fred Freer on Meadowood to <br />see if he will serve in that capacity. <br />Mayor Rinker said this is a proactive issue. We must set an agenda and develop a plan of action, <br />a prioritization of streets and a proposal of where we will be next--a master plan for sewering. <br />
