Special Council Meeting <br />8-24-98 <br />Page 2 <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Authorized <br />A motion to authorize an expenditure in the amount of $18,818 to B~iC <br />Communications for a Mode13100 Zetron Console (this includes labor etc.) <br />Council President Fixler said this includes labor; everything soup to nuts. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Authorized <br />Street Striping -Award of Contract <br />Mr. Metzung said Pat Flowers was the only bidder. His company has done the Village's <br />striping for the past several years and we have been satisfied with his work. <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Busa, made a motion to authorize an expenditure in the <br />amount of $12,219.28 to Pat Flowers for the 1998 street striping contract. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Asphalt Walk -Award of Contract <br />Mr. Busa made a motion to award the contract. <br />Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Authorized <br />Mr. Metzung said there was only one bidder. It was significantly over the Engineer's <br />estimate. He and the Engineer recommend rejecting the bid and re-advertising. <br />Mr. Busa withdrew his motion. <br />Dr. Parker said he spoke to Mr. Cappello today. <br />Mayor Rinker said there is a lot ofhand-digging; this is a labor intensive project. We <br />could end up losing this season to do the work. <br />Mr. Metzung said it takes 30 days for the bidding process and the specs will not change. <br />He questioned how much use people would get out of it this season--even if it were <br />awarded now. <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Dr. Parker, r~ a motion to reject the bid. <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />
