Regular Council Meeting <br />9/28/98 <br />Page 3 <br />1-4, 7-10, and 12-13; recommend item #5 at areduced cost and that someone get a proposal on <br />item 6. [He did not comment on item #11.) <br />Hillcrest Council ofCouncils - Dr. Parker had no report. <br />Historical Society -Mrs. Mills said work has started on the log cabin. The 2 exit signs and the 3 <br />additional smoke detectors have been installed. The Ice Cream Social held on September 9 was <br />a success. The biannual Quilt Show will be held on October 9-11 in the Community Room. She <br />said it's going to be a good show and asked everyone to come to look at it. <br />M.A.RC. -Mrs. Cinco said the Library will hold an Art Show from October 11 through <br />Halloween. Council has received the minutes. <br />Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Marquardt had no report. <br />Planning and Zoning -Mrs. Mills said the next meeting will be on October 13. There hasn't been <br />a meeting since the last report. <br />Recreation Board - Mr. Buckholtz said they met September 16. The Saturday before a mixture <br />of people from Recreation and~the Recreation Steering Committee toured several municipalities <br />to look at playground facilities. At the last meeting the data was analyzed and they are putting <br />together a scheme of two separate areas--a toddler and playground area as well as a children's <br />area. They're choosing equipment, layouts and materials. He believes that -will be fmalized on <br />the 6th. The Halloween Party will be Saturday, October 24 from 1-2:30 p.m. <br />Sewer Liaison Committee - Mr. Buckholtz said Mr. Marquardt spoke to Council representatives <br />on the Committee, coordinated with Mr. Brett and Tom Cappello. It looks like the next meeting <br />will be October 13`h at 7:30 p.m. He will contact Fred Freer, the representative of the Septic <br />Homeowner's Association to make sure that date is good for them as well. It will probably be <br />held at Village Hall. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />T-here was no discussion. <br />OPEN PORTION <br />There were no comments. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />A motion. to authorize a smoke detector system at Village Hall, Police annex and the <br />Community Room in the amount of $9,841.00 to Security Link, the low bidder <br />
