Regular Council Meeting <br />October 19, 1998 <br />Page 2 <br />DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS <br />Service - Mr. Metzung reported that leaf season has begun. <br />Building - Mr. Samac said he obtained another quote for the HVAC system (which was <br />distributed to Mayor Rinker and Council.) It was $180 more than the other quote. He explained <br />the high price is because they must cut through a wall. <br />Engineer -Council President Fixler asked when we can expect the bike path to be done. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said the contractor had gone to another job--he contacted them and they said they <br />will be back Thursday. <br />Council President Fixler said we must make sure to follow up on the repaving of S.O.M.--some <br />patchwork is wavy--and we may have a cracksealing problem. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said he will look at it; we may need to have them grind it out and redo it. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Activities Committee -Mrs. Roman reported the committee met last week. They revie~,~d <tl~ <br />summer activities and are making plans for the tree lighting ceremony. Their next meeting will <br />be the first week in November. <br />Architectural Review Board - Mr. Samac said the committee met October 8`". They discussed <br />the ATM drive for Charter One and approved a sun room and sign for First Energy;~a1 Beta <br />Drive. <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Samac said there was no meeting since the last Council meeting. <br />Cemetery - Mr. Buckholtz said there was no report. <br />Citizen's Advisor~ard -Mrs. Cinco said there was no report. <br />Commission on Aging - Mr. Busa read the report. (attached) <br />Safety and Service -Mrs. Cinco said she was not at the meeting (Octobers:) <br />l~Ir. Marquardt reported they discussed call boxes for the North Chagrin Commons. Fire and <br />police are in favor of it and will obtain quotes. The Fire Department is also proposing to put <br />together a disaster plan and will proceed with that. Service Department discussed drivev~y <br />drains and a sidewalk snowplow. The committee recommends going forward with that item. <br /> <br />r~ <br />U <br /> <br />
