Special Council Meeting
11-9-98
Page 6
Alternate 5 -Fencing - to use chain link fence in lieu of the decorative "wrought iron"
looking aluminum
Council agrees with the recommendation to use the wrought iron looking aluminum instead of
the chain link fencing.
Alternate 5 will not be accepted.
^ Alternate 6 - 50' Candle Lighting
Mayor Rinker read from the letter "It is my opinion that only if there is a great demand
within the community to have night swimming should the pillage accept this alternate."
Mayor Rinker asked who wants the lighting.
Councilmen Buckholtz and Marquardt are in favor of the lighting; Councilmembers Busa, Cinco,
Fixler and Mills are not in favor.
Alternate 6 will not be accepted.
^ Alternate 7 -Installation of a Diving Well.
All Council members are in favor of the installation of a diving well.
Alternate #7 will be accepted.
Alternates 8, 9 and 10 are mostly aesthetic items to enhance character of development.
^ Alternate 8 -Fiber Optic Lighting.
Mr. Marquardt said the original concept was to use the underwater lighting for night lighting--
not to be a decorative enhancement.
Mayor Rinker said if we are talking about the bookends of the season (where nighttime comes
earlier) he wonders if we can enhance the swim time.
Mr. Muhlbach said if you have pool lighting you would have 1/2 watt per square foot in the wall
of the pool and you would have to achieve 30 foot candles. He tries to stay away from getting
electric in the wall.
Mr. Marquardt asked the rou~l~ cost of underwater lighting.
Mr. Muhlbach said about $30,00.
