Regular Council Meeting July 19,1999 Regular Council Meeting July 19,1999 Page 4 r - Citizen's Advisory Board -Mrs. Cinco said they met on June 28. They discussed the pool i activities and activities for July 3`d. The Board would like to be included on the discussion and any presentations regarding the widening of Rt. 91. Commission on Aging - Mr. Busa read the report from Mrs. Kalina. Safety and Service -Mrs. Cinco said the Committee would like Council to table the laser pointer ordinance so they will have a chance to review the legislation in finished form. The committee recommends approval of the expenditures for signal equipment and a water tank. They discussed the modular building the Police Department wanted to purchase. We requested some movement on this issue so Lt. Dearden will take that back to Chief Stevens; let's get a final figure on this so Council can act. Finance Committee - Dr. Parker said he was nominated and elected Chairman. The committee discussed and recommends the following: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. The committee wanted to question whether they had fulfilled their contract according to Joe Diemert; there was some concern as to the quality of the show; people were disappointed somewhat. Mayor Rinker said we hadn't used this company before; he thinks it is a question of trying to shop around some more. Dr. Parker said the committee approved this item with the understanding we would have the ability to alter the location of the walkway at a later date. Mayor Rinker said there are some security issues Progressive is concerned about. Dr. Parker said perhaps a presentation might be in order (for Council.) Mayor Rinker suggested Tom Evans be invited in. Dr. Parker said the committee recommends approval of items 11-14. Hillcrest Council of Councils -Mrs. Cinco said there was no report. Historical Society -Mrs. Mills said they are working on the log cabin and the one-room school house. Anew coat of paint is being applied to the outside of the house;. the work began last week. M.A.R.C. -Mrs. Cinco said they met July 8 at Parkview Pool. They discussed the Basketball team and the Debbie Hudacko run. Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Samac said there was no meeting. Planning and Zoning -Mrs. Mills said=P&Z met this evening. They approved a preliminary plan for 1Vlayfran. There will be a worksHo~S the week of August 9. ~ ~J
