Regular Council Meeting <br />July 19,1999 <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />July 19,1999 <br />Page 4 <br />r - <br />Citizen's Advisory Board -Mrs. Cinco said they met on June 28. They discussed the pool i <br />activities and activities for July 3`d. The Board would like to be included on the discussion and <br />any presentations regarding the widening of Rt. 91. <br />Commission on Aging - Mr. Busa read the report from Mrs. Kalina. <br />Safety and Service -Mrs. Cinco said the Committee would like Council to table the laser pointer <br />ordinance so they will have a chance to review the legislation in finished form. The committee <br />recommends approval of the expenditures for signal equipment and a water tank. They <br />discussed the modular building the Police Department wanted to purchase. We requested some <br />movement on this issue so Lt. Dearden will take that back to Chief Stevens; let's get a final <br />figure on this so Council can act. <br />Finance Committee - Dr. Parker said he was nominated and elected Chairman. The committee <br />discussed and recommends the following: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. The committee wanted to <br />question whether they had fulfilled their contract according to Joe Diemert; there was some <br />concern as to the quality of the show; people were disappointed somewhat. <br />Mayor Rinker said we hadn't used this company before; he thinks it is a question of trying to <br />shop around some more. <br />Dr. Parker said the committee approved this item with the understanding we would have the <br />ability to alter the location of the walkway at a later date. <br />Mayor Rinker said there are some security issues Progressive is concerned about. <br />Dr. Parker said perhaps a presentation might be in order (for Council.) <br />Mayor Rinker suggested Tom Evans be invited in. <br />Dr. Parker said the committee recommends approval of items 11-14. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils -Mrs. Cinco said there was no report. <br />Historical Society -Mrs. Mills said they are working on the log cabin and the one-room school <br />house. Anew coat of paint is being applied to the outside of the house;. the work began last <br />week. <br />M.A.R.C. -Mrs. Cinco said they met July 8 at Parkview Pool. They discussed the Basketball <br />team and the Debbie Hudacko run. <br />Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Samac said there was no meeting. <br />Planning and Zoning -Mrs. Mills said=P&Z met this evening. They approved a preliminary plan <br />for 1Vlayfran. There will be a worksHo~S the week of August 9. ~ <br />~J <br />
