Regular Council Meeting
12-13-99
Page 27

1

back a few years later and do it again. I just want to offer this hope for the future: If the
character of the street should change by itself over the next several years, and I know a lot of
people would say, well then why not do it now? No. It has got to be driven by the character of
the street. If the street would change and suddenly there were no residential houses going up and
down S.O.M., I am talking off into the future, this community has the wherewithal generating
dollars. I visualize what you see there and I'd love to see it there. I just don't see it now. Like,
you talk the cart ahead of the horse and so forth. I can't see it with the residents sitting there.
Mayor Rinker said the thing is, you can still explore those options.
Mr. Buckholtz said we have.
Mrs. Mills said if you went up, you could have gone down. Now, you are locked in.
Mr. Buckholtz said I am talking a lot of years off. I am talking an exit ramp off White Road; I
am talking about people gravitating away from here.
Mrs. Mills said you weren't at the meeting when the man said it is probably going to be 15 or 20
years.
Mr. Buckholtz said it isn't; I don't believe that.
Council President Marquardt said we have debated and discussed this...
Council President Marquardt said I have one name missing [on the Charter Review
appointments.]
Dr. Parker said Ed Sullivan. I have spoken with him and he has agreed to serve on the
Committee.
ADJOURNMENT
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to adjourn.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None _ Motion Carried
The meeting adjourned at 10:10 p.m.
