1_„

Mr. Hovancsek said when the northern portion of Beech Hill was paved
discussion was held for the entire area of Beech Hill. At that time the
price of assessment was under $3,000 per lot. Since then the price has
doubled at no fault of the Village. The problem is still there and the
price may double again if another six years go by before anything is done.
Mrs. Pumphrey said the residents would have probably voted to have the
street paved six years ago but it was indicated the corner lots would not
be charged and they were disputing that.
Mr. Hovancsek said he believed that was incorrect. The records of
assessment are on file in the Clerks Off ice.
Mr. Feneli said at the last Council Caucus he was asked by Council to prepare
a memorandum detailing the steps to be taken in repaving a road. It will
probably be.discussed at the next Council Caucus on March 7. The formula for
assessing will be a matter of public record.
A Beech Hill resident of 19 years stated he has seen the road deteriorate.
After 1976 a road grader scraped all the slag off the top, right down to
bare dirt. They shoveled it into a dump truck and hauled it away.
Mr. Carmen said he realized there is alot of discussion necessary regarding
Beech Hill. However, in the interim he suggests Mr. Amendola be authorized
to make temporary repairs to maintain the street for safety reasons. Mr.
Amendola had mentioned $1,000 was needed to grade and gravel Beech Hill.
Mr. Carmen, seconded by Mr. Spellman, made a motion to authorize Mr. Amendola
to provide temporary repairs on Beech Hill of grading and filling in with
gravel, not to exceed $1,000.00.
Roll.Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Authorization Given
Mr. Busa stated Council will recess for a ten minute break at this time.
Council recessed at 9:20 p.m.
Council reconvened at 9:35 p.m.
CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES
Board of Appeals - January 17, 1983 - Mr. Carmen, seconded by Mrs. Hanus
made a motion to accept the minutes as written.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Minutes Accepted
