48
Mr. Amendola reported the cost was $975'.00.
Mrs. Fetzer said she does not feel alot of money should be spent on paving
when less money could be spent by maintaining the road. She feels Council
is being unresponsive to this matter.
Mr. Busa explained why public funds should not be spent on a road not accepted
for mairitenance.
Mr. Fetzer said Beech Hill is not a private road.
Mr. Feneli and Mr. Carmen explained the difference between a road accepted for
public use and a road dedicated for public use and maintenance.
Mr. Fetzer commented Beech Hill Road.was dedicated and accepted in 1921 and
until after 1954 roads were not specifically defined to be accepted for
maintenance.
Discussion was held.
Mr. Hovancsek reported the maintenance just done on Beech Hill will only last
a couple of months.
Mr. Etzler said outside of.one major project, $20,000.00 was spent on roads
last year. It would be hard to justify the amount spent on Beech Hill compared
to what is spent in other areas of the Village.
Mr. Busa stated it has come to the point where something must be done.
Mr. Carmen and Mr. Hovancsek pointed out that the cost of assessment several
years ago was half of the cost today.
A lady resident said the Beech Hill property owners might have accepted the
assessment at that time but they had received a letter stating that corner
lots and lots with 100 foot frontage would be excluded from assessment which
they did not feel was fair.
Mr. Hovancsek suggested the resident check the records in the Clerk of
Council's Off ice pertaining to this because the corner lots were also to
be assessed.
CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES
Regular Meeting of Council = February'21;:1983.- Mr. Etzler, seconded by Mr.
Carmen, made a motion to approve the minutes.
Mr. Busa noted the typographical correction on page four; of should be or.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Minutes Accepted
As Corrected
