60
Green Road County Yard:ClOsing.- He was advised it will be 5 to 15 years before
that happens, in the meantime.all we can do is wait to see what happens.
Encroachment at rear of Hillt6p:R2alty - Mr. Amendola and Mr. Hovancsek are
checking into that further.
Beecher's Brook Culvert at Wilson Mills'Road - Mr. Amendola discussed this at
the last Council meeting. We have traditionally done this in prior years.
Sale of Two Used.Police Cars - These were purchased by one person for $975.00
each.
Gates Mills Fire and AmBulatice:Coritract:P'rbposal - He suggested this matter be
discussed by Council. Both Chief Hejcl and Chief Stevens feel we should not
enter into such a contract and recommend maintaining our present Mutual Aid
Contract.
Highland Heights Proposal - Use of communications/jail - He feels the first
item of priority would be the use of their jail cells. He thinks Council should
make a complete study of this. He will ask Mayor Hughes to outline what he has
in mond regarding the communications center.
Recreation - Ball Teams - Control- This has been handled between he and the
Recreation Coordinator. The number of teams has been reduced. They are checking
into the possibility of using the Middle School f ields as it would.be convenient
if they decide to increase the number of teams next year.
Jail Standards/Inspection - Mayor Beebe will be in touch with Mayor Hughes as to
receipt of his proposal.
Billing for damages to Village Property - A system has been set up. The Service Department will put posts around them sometime in the
near future.
Ma.yor Beebe said he wanted to report on these items, Council may wish to discuss
them further.
COUNCIL PRESIDENT'S COMMENTS
Mr. Busa said now that the Mayor has censured his agenda, thanks for .the assist
but he does not think he needs it. His intention for the lengthy agenda was
that ma.ny subjects have been discussed at workshops and Caucuses.and never been
put on record. In most cases he wanted to bring them up in a ma.tter of
discussion only which is not on the agenda. It should have said discuss and
simply discuss and record as such for the permanent record of this Village.
When an agenda is prepared it is a Councils agenda and it cloes not need any
censuring or scrutinizing prior to the process of the Council meeting.
STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS
Safety Service Committee - Mr. Spellman said Safety and Service met March 30.
They discussed the repowering of Fire Engine 613 which is the most important
issue of the Fire Department this year. They also discussed shift commanders
for the Fire Department. Also discussed was Hotel/Motel tax which they would
like to discuss at the Finance Committee Meeting.
