64 <br />Shift Commanders - Fi're'Dept.. . <br />Mr. Spellman said he and Mr. F1ynn were in favor of shift commanders that <br />would be in charge in Chief Hejcl's absence. <br />Discussion was held on the cost. <br />Chief Hejcl requested an Executive Session be held to continue discussion. <br />Ordinance 83-9, en.titled; "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND DIRECTOR OF <br />FINANCE TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE CITY OF CLEVELAND FOR THE CONFINEMENT <br />OF PRISONERS AT THE CLEVELAND HOUSE OF CORRECTIONS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY." <br />Introduced by Mayor Beebe and Council as a Whole. <br />Mr. Etzler, seconded by Mr. Carmen, made a motion to suspend the rules of <br />Council requiring an ordinan:ce to be read on.three separate occasions. ? <br />Mr. Busa asked if there were any comments. <br />There were none. <br /> <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Nlotion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Lill, <br />Mr. Etzler, seconded by Mr. Carmen, ma.de a motion to pass Ordinance 83-9. <br />Mr. Busa asked if there was any discussion. <br />There was none. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Passed <br />Hospitalization Increase Proposal (31%) <br />Mayor Beebe suggested that Council meet with.the Representative from Aetna <br />Insurance who will present ways of cutting back. <br />Council agreed to meet with Mr. Chapman, insurance representative, Monday, <br />April 25 at 7:30 p.m. <br />Mr. Spellman said the Safety & Service meeting scheduled for that evening will <br />be cancelled. <br />A lengthy discussion was held regarding coverage of volunteer employees, <br />committee members, etc. - if they would be covered either under Workmans <br />Compensation or our liability insurance. <br />
