They have never been awarded the contrac.t.
Preparing the bid is quite a bit of work and each bid they have submitted has been
the lowest bid. He questioned why they were never awarded the contract.
Mr. Flynn arrived at this time (8:10 p.m.).
Mr.,Feneli said the bids were close in price. He recalls there was some
consideration given by Council to the fact that the company they awar•ded the
contract to had done the previous replacement work.
Mr. Fazio asked why their company is continually asked to submit bids when they
are never awarded the contract.
Mr. Etzler said the Justinian Cbmpany has never had a substantially lower bid.
The Walter Drane Company was familiar with our ordinances, they have done the
work before and that is why they were awarded the bid. The bid is given to the
lowest and best bidder. •
Mr. Feneli said he recommended the ;Tustinian Company be asked to bid on the
recodification. He said, as far as he knows, their company and the Walter Drane
Company are the only companies who do recodif ication work. It is then up to
Council to decide.
Mr. George Henwood, 6482 Foxboro, asked if the Village has voiced opposition to
the transportation of nuclear waste through the Village.
