172 <br />MAYOR`S COMMENTS <br />Mayor Beebe asked that all members of.Council sign the letter to employees. <br />regarding the 2.5% supplemental check and assurance of a minimum of 4% <br />raise which will be decided upon at the end of the first quarter of 1983, <br />but retroactive to January lst, 1984. (Attached to ttiese minutes.) <br />Mayor.Beebe s.tated that E.loise Maynard's.husband, Paul, is presently in <br />Hillcrest Hospital, Iie has possible pn,eumonia and is undergoing a series <br />of tests. Flowers have been sent on behalf of the Mayor and Gouncil and <br />monies are due. <br />Mayor Beebe askecl that Council approve.the expenditure of a Christmas luncheon <br />for employees of the Service and Finance Departments. The State Auditors <br />have advised that money can be expended for this purpose, by a motion by Council. <br />He estimated the approximate cost to be $50.00. <br />Mr. Carmen, sec.onded by Mr. Etzler, made a motion to approve the expenditure <br />of a holiday luncheon for employees. <br />Roll Call:. AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Approved <br />Mayor Beebe said he would like to acknowledge publicly the check received <br />from the L.N. Gross Company in the amount of $1,747.47 which was a part of <br />their profit from Beta Days held in November. <br />Mayor Beebe extended Christmas wishes to the audience. He noted this meeting <br />is his last official Council Meeting as Mayor. He said he has enjoyed his <br />years as Mayor and is thankful for the cooperation of'the Councils over the <br />years. He read his note entitled; "Please Maintain Under the Personal Records <br />of Mayor Robert G. Beebe." He asked that it be included as an attachment to <br />these minutes. He also xead a list.of ' items xeturned and signed for.by <br />Chief Stevens. (also attached to these minutes) including items removed from <br />his 1975 Fury and a weapon. <br />Mayor Beebe read the Proclamation entitled; "First a Fr3.end - Then a Host" <br />regarding drinking and the hol.idays. He supports this proclamation along <br />with many other communities. <br />He introduced his family who were in the audience. <br />COUNCIL PRESIDENT'S COMMENTS <br />Mr. Busa had no comments. <br />REPORTS FROM DEPARTMENT HEADS <br />Mr. Amendola said the Service Department has completed leaf pick up for <br />this year. He wished everyone happy holidays. <br />Mr. Toth extended holiday wishes and expressed his appreciation to Mayor Beebe <br />under his regime. He requested passage of the Appropriations .Ordinance.
