11 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />Village of Mayfield <br />January 18, 1982 <br />The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in regular session on Monday, <br />January 18, 1982, at 8:08 P.M. in the Village Hall. Council President, <br />Michael W. Spellman, presided. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given. <br />Quorum Call: Present: Messrs., Busa, Carmen, Etzler, Flynn, Spellman, <br />Mrs. Bloom and Mrs. Hanus <br />Absent : Chief Stevens <br />Also Present Were . Mayor Beebe, Gus Amendola, Dale Feneli, Chief Hejcl, <br />Sgt. Jack Jay,, Ruth Ruggles and Eloise Maynard <br />OPEN PORTION <br />Helen Fitzgerald, 6900 Wilson Mills Road- stated she was interested in the <br />sewer problems causing basement flooding, etc..and had attended the open <br />hearing recently held in Mayfield Heights. She stated discussion was held <br />regarding the new evaluation and survey being made to see where the poor <br />connections are between storm and sanitary sewers. She reported the <br />primary cause is because of the larger sewers that were put in and their <br />solution is to dig from 10 to 50 feet below where they are now. She stated <br />they hope to trace the problem and that it will be the homeowners responsibility <br />to correct it at their own expense and suggested the Village insist the repairs <br />be made. <br />Mr. Amendola stated that Mayor Beebe and Village Engineer Steve Hovancsek <br />have had several meetings with the County to discuss this issue. He stated <br />Mr. Hovancsek is in the process of reviewing all the sewers in Mayfield <br />Village for that interceptor that is going to come in in the 1980's. <br />Mrs. Fitzgerald stated that plans are to discontinue the use of the Beech <br />Hill and Bonnieview Pumping Stations. <br />Mr. Amendola stated he believed that is their intent when the sewer is <br />completed, which would be approximately 1988. <br />Mayor Beebe stated he felt their overall plans were good, however, over <br />the past ten years endless tests have been made and.he does not see <br />anything positive at this point. According to the Representatives from <br />the North East Ohio Regional Sewer District they were gathering information <br />that will be of assist in the awarding of government dollars towards this <br />project. He was informed at the meeting last week that it will be 1984
