12 <br />before the digging begins at the easterly treatment plant but will not <br />be starting with the Beech Hill plant until 1988. <br />Mr. Amendola stated that in the last year thorough tests have been made <br />and the County is on top of the situation. <br />CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br />Council President Spellman stated there being no objections, he will amend <br />the agenda to consider the minutes of January 14. <br />Special Meeting of Council - January 14, 1982 - Council President Spellman <br />stated there being no objections, the minutes will stand as written. <br />NIAYOR BEEBE' S COMMENTS <br />Mayor Beebe stated he is happy to report that the Village's financial posture <br />is super. He stated in 1972 there was $20,000.00 in the Village till and <br />today, ten years later, we have $428,000.00. He stated that $25,000.00 of <br />this is monies.made from proper investments made by Ruth Ruggles. He stated <br />the residents voted for a 1/2% income tax increast last November which <br />helped us also. <br />Mayor Beebe stated the Community Building is progressing well, and he hopes ? <br />Council will agree to match the funds raised by the Community Room Committee. ' <br />He stated some major projects now underway are the Heinens light and Cable <br />Television. <br />Mayor Beebe stated the Census Bureau has only reported an increase in our <br />population of 29 persons from 1970 to 1980, so we are still a Village. <br />COUNCIL PRESIDENT SPELLMAN'S COMMENTS <br />Council President Spellman stated his only comment is that there will <br />probably be an Executive Session during the Old Business portion of this <br />meeting. <br />STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS <br />Council President Spellman stated that his committee appointments, as <br />issued on January 4th, remain as stated. <br />Safety and Service - Councilwoman Bloom stated the Safety and Service <br />Committee held a short meeting this evening before the Finance Committee <br />Meeting. She stated they recommended to the Finance Committee the <br />purchase of Hurst Jaws, a hydraulic rescue tool, for the Fire Department. <br />She stated they are also studying the priority lists of all Departments.
