r? <br />MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL <br />Village of Iiayfield <br />February 8, 1982 <br />The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in Special Session on Monday, <br />February 8, 1982, at 8:07 P.M. in the Village Hall. Cou,ncil President, <br />Michael W. Spellman, presided. <br />Quorum Call: Present: Messrs., Busa, Carmen, Etzler, Flynn, Spellman, <br />Mrs. Bloom and Mrs. Hanus <br />Absent : Mayor Beebe, Financial Consultant Ruggles <br />Also Present Were . Gus Amendola, Dale Feneli and Steve Hovancsek <br />Council President Spellman statecl the purpose of this.special meeting was <br />to discuss litigation in executive session with Mr. Avery, however, we have <br />been informed he is unable to attend as planned. Council President Spellman <br />stated we will set up a date in the future to meet with Mr. Avery. <br />Council President Spellman.asked if Council wished to amend the agenda and <br />allow an "open portion" during this meeting to allow comments from the floor. <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Etzler, ma.de a motion to amend the agenda allowing <br />for an "open portion". <br />A voice vote was taken. AYES: All Motion Carried <br />Council President Spellman stated there being no objections, we will proceed <br />with comments from the floor. He stated those desiring to speak to first <br />state their name and address. <br />Rita Marie Mikula, 6232 Wilson Mills, stated she was here this evening because <br />she was told she should publicly state her problems, which problems she feels <br />violate her civil rights.. She questioned if Council.was aware of her situation. <br />Council President Spellma.n asked if Council received the letter in their packet <br />from Mrs. Mikula listing her ques,tions. <br />Council received Mrs. Mikulas list of questions. <br />, <br />Mrs. Mikula thanked Acting Mayor Spellman for extending courtesy and commended <br />him for his mature and intelligent support, honesty and refreshing attitude. <br />She stated this situation would not exist if Mr. Spellman had not been over- <br />ruled. She questioned, is Mr. Spellman not in command as Acting Mayor and <br />where in an ordinance or the Charter does it state otherwise? Mrs. Mikula <br />stated the above questions have nat been submitted in writing to anyone.
