? n n
?. ?..." ?J
CLOSING COMMENTS
Mr. Busa stated he is pleased and relieved of the results of this meeting.
Mr. Carmen stated that earlier Mrs. Hanus asked that the three members of
Council who left the last r.ieeting apologize. He stated that he cannot
apologize for anyone else, but if anyone in the audience was kept waiting
by his act, to those people he apologizes but he does not apologize for
leaving. He explained, as he expressed to the news media when asked
why he left, that Council people are.also human. There is only so mucli
a person can take in any one given evening before he reaches the.level
where he either does something rash or walks away. He said certain
members of Council were gloating and smiling when the Mayor resigned. Mr.
Carmen stated that.rather than explode and say something he might regret,
he felt his best alternative was to walk away.
Mr. Avery commented that this experience is one that alot of different
Councils have gone through. He said being an.elected official is a great
responsibility.
Mr. Etzler stated he hoped the events that have taken place tonight solidify
our Council and the relationship between the Council President and the Mayor.
He also hoped the balance of this year remains tranquil and quiet.
Mr. Flynn agr.eed with Mr. Etzler and thanked al1 citizens for being here
tonight.
Mrs. Hanus also thanked those present. She stated that it is time we get
back to our purpose for being here, to serve the people. The sooner we
get working on our Committees the better off the Village will be.
Mr. Feneli stated his office and telephone is always open to anyone. He
said he spent alot of time this week on Village matters, and after seeing
the results, feels it was worthwhile. He knaws Council has everyones
best interests at heart and he is looking forward to the rest of this year.
Council.President Spellman stated it was a very interesting lesson which he
hopes everyone remembers. He believes that they can be very objective,
leave their problems at home and get on with business.
Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Carmen, made a motion to adjourn the meetingo
There being no objections, the meeting adjourned at 7:55 P.M.
v
M2,YOR, ERT G.
